slowly but surely taking steps closer and closer to getting my UK passport.
today i finally got my passport photo taken.
so now i only have 2 more steps to go. but the next step will be the hardest obstacle to overcome. i need to find a person of certain standing who has known me for longer than 2 years to countersign my photos. And i just dont know any Doctors, Lawyers, police persons, Magistrates, or teachers who have known me for more than 2 years. what the heck do people do when they need to get a passport and they dont know such people. i hardly ever go to a doctor, so i just use medical centres. i know a lawyer but have only known him for 8 months. GRRR !
its not like this person has to be British, an Australian Citizen will do, but im really stumped as to who to get to do this.
once i have done that, i can finally send in all the documents and ill have a British passport.
Note 8 – Section 10 – Countersignature
When you have completed the form, someone who has
known you personally for at least two years should complete
and sign Section 10. That person should be a British citizen,
other British national or Commonwealth citizen who is a
Member of Parliament, Justice of the Peace, Minister of
Religion, Bank Officer, Established Civil Servant, or
professionally qualified person, e.g. Lawyer, Engineer,
Doctor, School Teacher, Police Officer or a person of
similar standing. Procedures include a check on the
authenticity of countersignatories.

similar standing." find out if a member of the defence force is considered.
defence force would definately have to apply.. considering you defend our country you would have to be considered as a certain standing type
not sure if I can do it, asked around at work, they think u have to be a senior sailor, i am only a jr. the only way is if the jr. has been in for 5 or 6 yrs.
You should ring the passport office and ask if someone who has been in for 3yrs will enough.
