One Step Closer

slowly but surely taking steps closer and closer to getting my UK passport.

today i finally got my passport photo taken.

so now i only have 2 more steps to go. but the next step will be the hardest obstacle to overcome. i need to find a person of certain standing who has known me for longer than 2 years to countersign my photos. And i just dont know any Doctors, Lawyers, police persons, Magistrates, or teachers who have known me for more than 2 years. what the heck do people do when they need to get a passport and they dont know such people. i hardly ever go to a doctor, so i just use medical centres. i know a lawyer but have only known him for 8 months. GRRR !
its not like this person has to be British, an Australian Citizen will do, but im really stumped as to who to get to do this.

once i have done that, i can finally send in all the documents and ill have a British passport.

When you have completed the form, someone who has
known you personally for at least two years should complete
and sign Section 10. That person should be a British citizen,
other British national or Commonwealth citizen who is a
Member of Parliament, Justice of the Peace, Minister of
Religion, Bank Officer, Established Civil Servant, or
professionally qualified person, e.g. Lawyer, Engineer,
Doctor, School Teacher, Police Officer or a person of
similar standing. Procedures include a check on the
authenticity of countersignatories.

missing in action

well world... ive been looking back at my recent posts and thought, how slack have i been writing in my blog. i guess becuase im travelling so much for work, my time at home is limited and im not getting all that i want done whilst im at home.

last week was Adelaide... and was there virtually all week.. stayed at a brilliant hotel mind you...the medina grand.

was my ex's birthday while i was down there... but he couldnt catch up. i was a bit disappointed that after 18 months together, in the 4 nights i was down there he couldnt have found 20 mins to have a coffee so i coudl wish him a happy birthday.. but then again, hes made his choice and ill just assign the appropriate priority from here on in.

this week, im home for 4 days.. oh my god, what luxury.. and then off to brisbane. for 3 days. im away from home more than a flight attendant.

scott gave me a nice surprise yesterday and is on his way down from London to Sydney. and is going to come meet me in brisbane. WOW.. will be a bit like groundhog day.

had a great weekend.. funny how you have to condense so much in to the spare days that you have at home. but managed to see everyone that i could and would want to. the great thing about king street newtown is youre bound to see all your friends out for a saturday morning shopping stroll.

sat night was pauls birthday, and we went for tapas.... a very expensive evening.. 5 people, over $400.. eeeks. mind you we did drink a bottle of red each and then got into the vodkas back at pauls.

one of his friends, who i am sure has A.D.D decided he was going to flirt with me mercilessly. trying tomake out that hes the best thing for me since slided bread, and tried to dominate me (totally forgetting that i had seen pics of him on his internet profile playing total sub.....dont you hate it when youre recognised by your profile pics)
anyway, had a ball playing with his mind and totally turning all the tables on him. everytime he tried to bark an order at me and dominate me, i turned it right back aroudn by telling him to say please or to do something, before i would agree... thus in turn totally dominating him, but he didnt catch on i was even doing it. sigh.. have to amuse myself in little ways.

but needless to say i was incredibly drunk by the time i left.. i know i spent a good hour on the phone to scott after but no friggin idea what the heck we talked about.

my god, i think winter has arrived in sydney. last 2 days ive actually had to put a suit jacket on to go to work. actually, its been raining a fair bit over the last 2 days. great news for sydney, however, none of it in the catchment areas, so none going to our water supplies. at least we are not like Melbourne and Brisbane, with level 5 water restrictions in Brisbane. 4 minute showers is a bit rough!

anyway.. whats a boy to do, when having to walk 20 mins in this heavy rain, but put on a "boeser wolf" shirt, my german army jacket, a beanie with HAMBURG written on it, a St Pauli schlusselband (key lanyard) and blast german musik thru the ipod, as i walk under my umbrella in the rain, and just pretend its Hamburg ! didnt seem so bad then.

kind of excited because tonight i get to speak to scott on the phone, who is currently on holidays in Cape Town with his parents (poor guy). never thought i could miss contact with someone so much.. but i guess ive been spoiled with him having so much downtime lately that we can afford to speak on the phone. i dont know who is more obsessed..him or me..but who cares. mind you.. he got a 300 pound phone bill because apparently calls to my mobile dont get covered by his free international call plan..ooops.

on the plus side also, i hear by the end of this week exactly when my house will be finished. yay !! i havent seen it in weeks, and last time i saw it, it was just a shell, with no roof and no floor, and no internal walls, no bathroom or kitchen.. and now, its almost finished. not sure how the timeframe for the painter will go, but hoping its not too long, so i can move back home and start saving for a trip to europe. however, i kinda like living where i am.... i have the best flatmates in the world, but i think the strain of paying a morgage and rent is going to hit hard soon and i cant afford that and a holiday to europe.

got my work schedule for the next 2 months today... fuck im going to be a busy boy again... with only currently 9 spare days between now and 1st july, where im not booked already. looks like im spending 3 weeks of june in melbourne, but definately coming home for weekends as thats a bit much to be away.. unless they are going to pay me.... HA ! flight centre reimbursing you for time... hmm maybe i can make a deal for staying down in melbourne for the weekends and saving airfares, and getting time in lieu for holidays and spending more time in europe ?? nice though but fat chance. somewhere in all this Bert's coming to stay, and i get the feeling that some of that will have to be in melbourne with me.

Thai zoo keepers artificially inseminated a female panda on Monday after her male partner failed to perform despite video "panda porn" aimed at teaching him how to impregnate her, officials said.

Chuang Chuang, the male at Chiang Mai Zoo, 700 km north of Bangkok, would rather play than mate and Lin Hui had to be inseminated artificially because her annual three-day fertile period was due to end on Tuesday.

"We let them stay together last night, but Chuang Chuang was having fun teasing his partner while Lin Hui was sexually ready," Sophon Dumnui, head of the state body which supervises the zoo, told reporters.

"Although we have shown him the how-to-mate video several times, Chuang Chuang is probably a little bit too young to mate. His sex organ is too small and short," Sophon said
